Community Wellbeing Economy
Castlemaine Institute’s Wellbeing Economy Team and network of partners and advisors, are together leading Australian efforts to use the wellbeing economy framework and approach to achieve a local economy that works for people and planet.
We partnered with the Mount Alexander Shire Council (MASC), WWF, Ethical Fields and the community in 2023-2024 to produce two strategies to support the evolution of our economy:

- Deeper Roots Trail Guide: Towards a Wellbeing Economy for Mount Alexander Shire [download PDF]
This body of work lead to the creation of the Wellbeing Economy Learning Circle Program in 2025, with funding from the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation. The Learning Circle is supporting leaders in Mount Alexander Shire to learn, connect and build shared resources and understanding to support outcomes for the wellbeing economy.
