Beautiful in mass plantings, especially when the sun is low and the grasses catch the light.

A common and widespread species, tolerant of a wide range of conditions. The fine form means its a good option for a drought tolerant native lawn: foliage only reaches 30cm, but flower stalks grow to 60cm so will require some mowing. Seeds out prolifically in garden beds and pathways, so requires a confident hand in weeding out seedlings. Abundant seed will be valued by seed-eating birds and fine leaves provide useful nest-building material.

[68,67,70
post-4588","plant","type-plant","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","project-book","project-plant-selector","project-wren-refuge
["GET
