Provides a drought tolerant living-mulch through Summer, protecting the ground from evaporation and suppressing weeds.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Creeping Saltbush (sometimes called Berry Saltbush) is likely a recent arrival in the Mount Alexander Shire from further west in the Goldfields region. A coloniser of compacted soils and disturbed sites. It will die back in Winter frosts. Will resprout when the weather warms, following hard-pruning . The small red berries are eaten by many local birds such as Silvereyes, Bronzewing pigeons and Ravens.
