Varnish Wattle

This upright shrub has deep green leaves with a varnished sheen. Woody stems are exposed under the leaf canopy when mature. Beautiful when flowering.

Provides vibrant green in the garden when many plants are drying out in the peak of summer. A useful plant for difficult conditions: tolerant of drought, some waterlogging, frost and compaction. Becomes sparse with age and benefits from pruning to reduce dead woody material and to expose elegant branches.
