Tall Sedge

A large and robust sedge with slender, arching leaves. Grows in dense tussocks. Leaves can cut if you run your hand up them.

Thrives in moist to wet soils, including creek banks and the margins of wetlands. Can also be grown in seasonally inundated areas that dry out in summer. It withstands both full sun and partial shade. An important refuge for frogs, reptiles and protection for small birds when approaching water for a drink. Valuable for water filtration and soil stabilisation.
