Cottony Fireweed

An erect perennial herb, cutting a striking silver, vertical form in the garden. Tiny daisy-flowers are easily missed.  Multiple stems branch from the underground rootstock. Dies back in summer/autumn to resprout each winter/spring.

A beautiful contrast plant to include in a naturalistic planting or perennial border. A coloniser of disturbed and bare ground, Fireplant will seed out readily through the garden. Cut back old growth after summer if the look becomes too unruly. Seeds will be appreciated by rosellas and are larval food plant for moths such as the Senecio Moth.
