Bulbine Lily

Bright star-like flowers open in a relay through Spring. Fleshy leaves sprout from the tuberous root in Autumn. May die-back in late Summer, surviving as underground tubers until resprouting with autumn rains.

Beautiful scattered through a grassland garden or massed in a perennial border. Successfully grown in containers. The tall stalks studded with seedpods look great after flowering has ceased. May be evergreen with summer irrigation. Thrives best where soil moisture is available. A robust grassland flower with good competitive ability. Native bees will value the pollen and nectar on offer.
