Basket Sedge

A tussock of slender, cylindrical stems with dark green, grass-like leaves. It forms dense clumps and produces tall but inconspicuous flower spikes. It’s luxuriant form is visually appealing in a naturalistic garden.

Grows along margins of wetlands and happiest in seasonally inundated soils. A useful and beautiful plant for any waterlogged parts of the garden. Will tolerate extended periods of dry once established. Provides refuge for frogs, lizards and small birds approaching water for a drink.
