Small-leaved Clematis

A gorgeous, frothy climber with creamy star-like flowers and fine foliage. Male and female flowers occur on separate plants (dioecious). One female plants, the feathered seed heads are a bonus after flowering has finished. Perfect for concealing a fence or wall and for providing refuge and nesting sites for small birds.

Plants will twine around any vertical stretch of wire or timber and will then grow laterally along support structures. Prune back old growth to reduce summer fire hazard. Can resprout after a hard prune. May live a few decades.
