Black Wattle

With its striking dark trunk and feathery foliage this medium-sized tree is striking in a grove or grown as spreading feature tree. Abundant flowers in late-Spring.

A fast-growing pioneer plant, adaptable to difficult and dry soils. Generally short-lived as it becomes prone to borer with age (usually less than 15 years). An important habitat tree that builds the backyard foodweb with edible gum that is enjoyed by people and Sugar Gliders.
